Privacy Policy

This policy explains what iContacts stores, what leaves your device, and the choices available to you.

1. Information in the app

iContacts stores the contacts you save in its local database on your device. A contact can include a name, phone number, email address, job title, organization, notes, tags, category, social handles, a selected photo, a suggested follow-up and a creation date. The app also stores preferences and your Gemini API key in local app settings. Device backups may include app data, depending on your Apple and device settings.

2. AI processing with Google Gemini

When you request contact extraction, iContacts sends the text you entered, pasted or transcribed, together with extraction instructions, directly to Google's Gemini API over HTTPS. This text may contain personal details about you or other people. Your API key authenticates the request, and Google receives normal connection information such as your IP address. The generated response returns to the app for you to review and save.

The app does not send your entire saved contact database or selected profile photos to Gemini as part of this request. It does not route extraction requests through a developer-operated server.

Google's processing, retention and possible use of submitted content depend on its terms and the service configuration associated with your API key. See Gemini API Additional Terms and Google's Privacy Policy. Do not submit confidential or sensitive information that you are not authorized to share.

3. Voice input and permissions

Microphone access is used when you record a voice note. Apple's Speech framework converts audio into text. Depending on device capabilities and Apple's service availability, speech recognition may involve Apple's servers; the app does not require recognition to run entirely on-device. A transcript submitted for contact extraction is then sent to Gemini as described above. The app does not intentionally save an audio recording as a file.

Contacts permission is requested when exporting a contact to Apple Contacts. A selected photo is accessed through Apple's photo picker and stored with the contact. You can manage microphone, speech recognition and Contacts permissions in iOS Settings.

4. Exports and sharing

When you export to Apple Contacts, the exported record becomes part of your system address book and may sync with accounts you have enabled there. CSV exports are created in the app's temporary storage and shared with the app or destination you choose. Those copies are subject to the destination's privacy practices.

5. Advertising, analytics and support

The app does not include advertising or third-party analytics SDKs, and the developer does not receive your contact database through the app. If you contact support, we receive the email address, message and attachments you provide and use them to respond and resolve your request. Please avoid sending API keys, private contact lists or unredacted sensitive screenshots.

These website files set no cookies and load no analytics, external fonts or advertising scripts. The website's hosting provider may process technical access logs, such as IP addresses and requested pages, to serve and protect the site.

6. Retention and deletion

Saved contacts remain in the app until you delete them or delete the app and its local data. Offloading the app may retain its data. You can edit or delete individual contacts in iContacts and remove an API key from Settings. The developer cannot remotely retrieve or delete your local database.

Deleting a contact in iContacts does not delete previously exported Apple Contacts records, shared CSV files, backups, or data already processed by Google or Apple. Manage those copies with the relevant service. Support correspondence is retained as needed to handle your request and meet applicable obligations; you may contact us to request deletion.

7. Your choices and requests

You can stop using voice input, revoke permissions, choose what you submit for extraction, and delete local contacts. Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, or object to or restrict certain processing. Send requests concerning information held by the developer to {{SUPPORT_EMAIL}}. Requests about data processed independently by Google or Apple should also be directed to those providers.

8. Changes and contact
